Aligning UK Core Assignments
All instructors at the university are encouraged to take advantage of the services offered by the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT). The CELT staff offers consultations and workshops for all instructors at the university, including those teaching Core courses.

New Programs/ Program Changes
Lightcast
Burning glass is a labor market tool that allows users to assess alignment between academic programs and labor markets. The University currently has access to two products (labor insight and program insight) that merges data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), IPEDS (Department of Education), and actual job postings. Programs use these tools to assess curriculum alignment, potential salaries and employment opportunities, and identify business partnerships. For more information please contact OSPIE.
CPE Policies
CPE has a number of policies and resources related to New and Existing Programs. OSPIE supports state regulatory requirements related to new program, program changes, and program review. Please contact OSPIE directly if you have any questions related to these areas.
Curricular Process
OSPIE works closely with the University's Curricular Process to support program changes and new program proposals. However, these are separate, but related, processes.

DHS CIP Codes/OPT Extension for International Students
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) STEM Designated Degree Program List is a complete list of fields of study that DHS considers to be science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) fields of study for purposes of the 24-month STEM optional practical training extension described at 8 CFR 214.2(f). Program Closure or Suspension of Admissions
The University is required to submit a teach-out plan to students for any program in which admission has been suspended or closed. Programs who have made this decision should contact OSPIE and submit a teach-out plan.

Substantive Change
The University is required to have a policy and procedures for ensure that all substantive changes, as described in SACSCOC's substantive change policy, are reported in a timely fashion. OSPIE monitors substantive change through a number of mechanisms including an initial review of all new programs and program changes.
