December 1, 2006 USP Reform Steering Committee (USPRSC) was charged by Provost Subbaswamy at the recommendation of the General Education Reform and Assessment (GERA) committee and A Whitepaper on Revising the University Studies Program was distributed to initiate conversation for the USPRSC
December 8, 2008 University Senate adopted the four learning outcomes as proposed by the General Education Reform Steering Committee across a 30-hour curriculum
December 9, 2010 University Senate voted to approve the implementation of the new General Education curriculum in Fall 2011
October 20 2023 the Board of Trustees presented CR 1 Accelerate Growth to Do More and Be More for Kentucky recommending that that UK Core be assessed, evaluated, and revised to focus on ensuring students are provided the skills to succeed.
